DS Boring – 36/42-600 Installing 24 Inch Forced Sewer

We had the opportunity to spend some time with the crew of DS Boring down in Tampa, FL. They were installing 320 ft. of 24 in. diameter forced main sewer. The equipment used was an American Augers 36/42-600 Tier 4 auger boring machine. The pit was benched, drained and covered with a white plastic tarp to keep the sandy soil in place. Since it was mainly sandy soil conditions, there was no cutter head needed for this job as it was mainly conveying the sand out of the way for the casing to be placed.
